Do Kyungsoo thinks those who waste their precious time playing Quidditch are idiots but most importantly, Hufflepuffs who play Quidditch take the cake.
►author's notes: First of all, I'd like to apologize to the prompter if I butchered your prompt; I tried my best and hope you enjoyed it - also, I'm really sorry if it was not what you had expected. To other readers who gave this time, thank you for reading it. To S, A, Z and C, thank you for basically holding my hand through this prompt and listening to my ramblings and ideas.
Do Kyungsoo seethes in bubbling anger when an all too familiar golden snitch whizzes by the stack of assignments he had only just rearranged accordingly, causing said assignments to fly from his hands. His eye twitches and he can feel his head throbbing – a clear sign that he is going to have a migraine. He tries his hardest to calm his breathing, also tries his hardest not to think about the amount of time he had just wasted and the time he has to make to once again rearrange the assignments accordingly. He can still hear the faint whizzing the snitch makes as it rounds the students a few tables away from where he had been sitting. There can only be one man who would be careless enough to lose a snitch – of all the things to lose in bright daylight – and Kyungsoo’s chest tightens at the thought.
The cause of (most of) his problem(s) stands at the entrance of the room: eyes wide and frantic, breathing heavily with sweat running down his neck. Kyungsoo narrows his eyes at the incoming figure and ignores the sheepish look said figure is supporting when he sees the mess his loose snitch had caused.
“I – I am sorry,” Park Chanyeol apologizes. Long gone was the sheepish look he had been supporting which is now being replaced with a contemplative one. His eyes dart towards the back of the room, where the snitch is still whizzing around and then he glances at the mess he has caused. He bites the inside of his cheeks and bends down to pick the papers.
Kyungsoo wills himself not to say anything lest he wants to regret it in the future. For as much as he abhors wasting his time, he is not one to let his mouth loose and act upon his own anger. If he did, he is not quite sure Park Chanyeol would even be able to mount a broom let alone be well enough to play Quidditch until he graduates. Alas, he merely entertains the idea instead and reaches for the papers that Chanyeol is giving him. He winces at how every single paper is not arranged properly but tries not to mind as much for the moment.
“Please just keep a better eye on your snitch.” Kyungsoo murmurs before reaching for the rest of his belongings, leaving the room quickly before the latter had anything else to say. He does not want to be in the same room with Park Chanyeol far longer than he has to be. One Quidditch idiot is enough. He does not need another.
Park Chanyeol is an enigma: an entity that is far difficult for someone who is as smart as Kyungsoo, who is more commonly known to his seniors as well as juniors as the child of God. He thinks the name is a little bit preposterous since he is only gifted with the ability to soak up information like a sponge – Kyungsoo is practically useless when it comes to dealing with emotions. It did not come to a surprise when he landed himself in Ravenclaw and became one of the most sought out students in the school.
That aside, his fascination (for the lack of a better word) with Park Chanyeol only began a solid month ago when the latter had almost hit his face with a stray bludger. How that had happened remained a mystery to everyone but Do Kyungsoo and the witnesses. Everyone is so eager to be on Kyungsoo’s nice list that that moment seemed to be erased completely from the minds of everyone. He could not quite understand it completely – this fascination (could he really call it as such?) he has with Park Chanyeol irate him sometimes. He gets confused and his chest often tightens – with anticipation and nervousness whenever the latter is around but he simply brushes it off in favor for reading the latest installments of the books his brother has sent to him, all the way from America where he is currently residing in.
Kyungsoo frowns when he sees his self-proclaimed best friend (the other Quidditch idiot he had mentioned earlier) hanging around the door to his common room. “What are you doing here, Byun,” He says tersely. He really has no time to deal with Baekhyun at the moment – he still needs to rearrange the papers that are now askew. “Hufflepuff’s chambers are nowhere near here.”
Baekhyun, upon seeing his grumpy friend, grins widely as he bounded over to where Kyungsoo has stopped to look at him. He giggles when Kyungsoo scrunches his nose at how close he is peering in to Kyungsoo’s face. “I heard.”
Kyungsoo raises one of his eyebrows.
Baekhyun does not need any prompting before he drops his arm on Kyungsoo’s shoulders, pulling the latter closer. “From Chanyeol; he was so surprised you had not killed him right on the spot for accidentally letting that snitch loose.” Baekhyun cackles at the end of his sentence because he also thinks that Chanyeol is the only one able to lose such important equipment. How had he been promoted as the captain still remains a mystery to Baekhyun.
Although when Baekhyun thinks about it, he cannot deny that Chanyeol is sharp and really attentive when it comes to playing Quidditch – Hufflepuff has been winning a lot of games recently, ever since Chanyeol had been appointed as captain of the team at the beginning of their Fifth year.
Kyungsoo winces from how loud his friend is laughing as he tries to push Baekhyun away, only to give up a second later. Baekhyun can be quite the octopus when he wants to, especially when it comes to his friends. “I merely decided to not waste any more time by getting mad.” He murmurs as he feels the throbbing intensify with Baekhyun’s obnoxious voice. “Baekhyun, can we please do this conversation some other time because I really need to work on my assignments.” Kyungsoo looks at Baekhyun.
Seeing the grumpy and almost pitiful look his friend is supporting, Baekhyun relents and releases the latter, but not before hugging the man, ruffling his hair. Kyungsoo grimaces but rolls his eyes instead. “I’ll see you at dinner, Kyungsoo; do not even attempt to skip!” Baekhyun points at Kyungsoo before hurriedly running away, when Kyungsoo whips his wand out of his robe.
(Kyungsoo was not really going to use it on his friend.
He just wanted to scare Baekhyun away.)
Kyungsoo ended up skipping dinner that night, regretting the decision the next morning when he wakes up late and misses breakfast. He reminded himself to head to the kitchen later, he is sure his house elf will have something prepared for him. Kyungsoo rushes in to his class and almost flinches when he sees the only empty seat he sees is next to Park Chanyeol. His eyes scan the room and lands on his friend, Baekhyun who is merrily chatting with Kim Minseok – his flavor of the month, Kyungsoo reckons. Cursing his friend in his head, Kyungsoo heads over to the table and sits down before Chanyeol could even process what is happening.
Ten minutes later, Professor Jaewon – their Potions professor – tells them to quietly work on their project of the day: make an Amortentia potion and write an assignment on it, to be submitted by the end of the lesson. Kyungsoo winces at the coincidence – of all Potions they could have learned to make today, it had to be a love potion.
Chanyeol blinks once and then twice when he finally processes what Professor Jaewon had just told them. He glances at his seatmate from the corner of his eyes and gulps when he sees the unamused look Do Kyungsoo has.
Chanyeol clears his throat, causing the latter to turn his eyes away from their professor and to look at – him. He feels a bead of sweat rolling down the back of his neck and he clears his throat once more. “So, uh, how are we going to do this?” He asks, ignoring the prickling feeling he has as Kyungsoo looks at him. Chanyeol almost feels like he is in his birthday suit with how intense Kyungsoo is looking at him.
“I will go get the ingredients ready and you can work on jotting down the ingredients we need, as a starter for the assignment.” Kyungsoo’s chocolatey-rich voice sounds and Chanyeol nods his head, hoping he would not look too eager in front of Kyungsoo. The latter simply fixes him a look before excusing himself to get the ingredients. Chanyeol all but sighs once Kyungsoo walks away.
It was no secret to everyone who knew Chanyeol that he has a crush on Do Kyungsoo – has been harboring one since his second year in Hogwarts. His first year had gone by like a blur and he was not sure if he actually even interacted with the latter, probably not, he muses as he begins writing down the first paragraph on the paper. It was also no secret to everyone in the school that Kyungsoo abhors and absolutely despises Quidditch due to an accident that happened all the way in their first year. He furrows his eyebrows – it was like a stab to the heart when he found out from Baekhyun that Kyungsoo does not date just about anyone, let alone a Quidditch player, especially not a Quidditch player from Hufflepuff.
(“I can’t recall what had happened in our first year, Baek.” Chanyeol munches on the licorice he had gotten from his older sister and Baekhyun hums in understanding. “I just don’t understand why Kyungsoo hates Quidditch so much.” Chanyeol pouts. “By default, that’s like hating me too.”
“Of course you wouldn’t: I would be surprised if you did, since you couldn’t even remember your name a week after the incident happened.” Baekhyun stated as he reaches for the rest of the licorice Chanyeol is hogging. “Compensation for what I am about to tell you.” He chuckles at the output look Chanyeol gave him but ignores the latter nonetheless, opting to munch the licorice.
“Out with it then,” Chanyeol wipes his hands on his pants, wondering if it will leave a stain.
“Kyungsoo doesn’t really hate you,” Baekhyun states but upon seeing the look of disbelief Chanyeol gave him, he rephrases his sentence. “Kyungsoo doesn’t really hate you per se but since you play Quidditch and are in Hufflepuff, you are officially in his hate-list for a while.” He pats Chanyeol on the back, trying to soothe his friend.
Chanyeol simply swats his hand away, urging him to continue with his story.
“In our first year, during flying lessons with Professor Siwon, Kyungsoo took a fall from his broom after a Hufflepuff accidentally set loose a bludger.” Baekhyun explains. “That bludger also hit you which may also be the reason why you most likely do not remember what happened in first year. You also broke your glasses then too.” Baekhyun pointed out with his licorice.
“Oh.”
“Yeah.”)
Working with Kyungsoo had been different from what Chanyeol had expected. He had expected the latter to be bossier, to order him around and even point out the mistakes he makes but none of that had happened. Kyungsoo simply corrected him when he was wrong and he did not even get mad when Chanyeol accidentally stepped on his feet, a couple of times. Dare he say it; Kyungsoo seems to be a tad bit lenient with him, even if he is still giving Chanyeol the cold shoulders.
“Okay, ten minutes until class finishes: please do not forget to write down what you smell. I expect two different sets of answers for that.” Their professor calls out as he rounds the class, stopping by some tables to assess the potions.
“You can go first.” Kyungsoo says as he takes the paper from Chanyeol. “I will write it down for you.”
Chanyeol rubs the back of his neck sheepishly at the gaze Kyungsoo is giving him before he leans closer to the cauldron. He took a whiff of the smell coming out of the cauldron and immediately he is hit with the smell of books, refreshing yet comfortable at the same time, the second scent to hit his nose smelled roughly like new parchment and the last had a sweet orangey-scent. Chanyeol shudders: his mind is now plagued with the thoughts of how Kyungsoo smells like.
Chanyeol is very much aware that he is attracted to the latter. He also knows a few things about the Amortentia potion too. He did not really need the potion to tell him what he already knows for sure: he really likes Do Kyungsoo.
“So?” Kyungsoo asks, curiosity laced in his word.
Chanyeol leans back, not wanting to be drunk on the scent anymore. He clears his throat and answers Kyungsoo’s question, hoping the latter would not be able to piece everything together. When Kyungsoo simply handed the paper back to him – Chanyeol notes that Kyungsoo has very clean and neat handwriting – Chanyeol is a little bit relieved and somewhat disappointed that Kyungsoo was not able to piece it together.
Kyungsoo’s expression did not change but Chanyeol notices the faraway look he has as he takes in the smell coming from the cauldron. Chanyeol wonders briefly about what Kyungsoo is able to smell and feels a tinge of jealousy surging. He knows the potion reminds the people of what they find most attractive and he wonders, very briefly, if Kyungsoo finds him attractive.
He doesn’t quite know how to react when Kyungsoo steps away, simply taking the paper back from Chanyeol and writing it down swiftly. When Chanyeol dared to ask, closer to when the class is about to end, Kyungsoo merely states: “Freshly mowed grass.” Chanyeol had been tempted to ask him about what else he had smelled but the look on Kyungsoo’s face prevented him from asking.
For the rest of the day, Chanyeol caught himself thinking of what Kyungsoo had smelled from the potion and if he was attractive to Kyungsoo.
A week had passed since the fateful day Professor Jaewon had made them brew the Amortentia potion and Kyungsoo has been mulling over his thoughts for a while now. So much so, he fails to see the person in front of him, until it was too late causing him to fall in to the person in front of him.
Kyungsoo landed on something soft yet firm and his eyes widens as his glasses falls down his nose.
Chanyeol is looking back at him with eyes wide.
The two of them sprang apart and Kyungsoo almost feels regretful: Chanyeol has a firm body and from the brief contact, he could feel Chanyeol’s muscles beneath his robe. “Sorry, I wasn’t looking at where I was going.” He murmurs and Chanyeol helps him up. Due to their close proximity, Kyungsoo could smell a waft of freshly mowed grass and broomstick handle and something that was naturally Chanyeol – he could feel the tips of his ears feeling very hot.
“I was caught in my own thoughts too.” Chanyeol sheepishly apologizes as he picks up the plan he had dropped. “Anyways, I’ll see you around in class: I have to attend my practice now.” He apologizes once more before making a run to the castle ground.
Kyungsoo stands there, frozen, contemplating.
“Kim Jongdae, if you do not shut up your mouth in three seconds, I will annihilate you.” Kyungsoo growls on a Sunday morning. He has not been able to sleep properly lately – his mind filled with the thoughts of a certain Park, not that he would ever admit it to anyone – and having Jongdae waking him up at such ungodly hour on a Sunday; a Sunday nevertheless, is grating his nerves.
Jongdae cackles. “That would require you to get out of the bed.”
Kyungsoo groans in disdain. He knows that Jongdae will not stop until he gets out of bed. He pushes the curtain aside and looks at Jongdae who is smiling brightly at him. “What do you want now?”
Jongdae smiles as widely as he could. “You and I are going to head to Hogsmeade together – we haven’t been able to talk lately and I miss talking to you.” Jongdae says with a look that was so cute, Kyungsoo did not have the heart to reject his friend’s offer and truth be told, he also missed talking to Jongdae too.
Kyungsoo sighs and nods his head. “Just let me shower, get breakfast and then we can head to Hogsmeade.” He says pointedly and Jongdae grins before ruffling his bed hair, laughing when Kyungsoo tries to bite his hand.
Kyungsoo decides to walk around the village while Jongdae is at Dervish & Banges, getting a few of his items fixed. They had gotten breakfast together prior to leaving and seeing as Kyungsoo did not really have any plans at all for the day, he simply accompanied Jongdae around the village, talking but mostly listening to his friend’s chattering. They did come across Baekhyun and Minseok (no surprise there since from what he has heard, Minseok is officially Baekhyun’s boyfriend) who were on a date.
Before he knows it, Kyungsoo finds himself in between the aisles inside of Honeydukes, picking a few: Pumpkin pasties, Liquorice Wands, Chocolate Frogs and a few Chocolate Cauldrons and as he turns to head to the counter, he bumps in to none other than Park Chanyeol, who greets him with a smile full of teeth and momentarily, Kyungsoo is blinded.
“Hi.” Chanyeol breathes out.
Kyungsoo gives the latter a small smile – the corner of his lips twitches – and nods his head. It wasn’t really much of a smile but it was still better than nothing seeing as he is fraternizing with the enemy – if he can really call Chanyeol that since his feelings are quite confusing at the moment.
Truthfully, Chanyeol did not expect to see Kyungsoo outside of Hogwarts. He barely sees Kyungsoo outside of classes and it came to a surprise when he sees Kyungsoo standing in the aisle with arms full of sweets and chocolates. It brought a smile to his face when he sees the amount of chocolates: he never pegged Kyungsoo have sweet teeth. That just makes him all the more adorable.
“Do you come here often?” the question left his mouth before he could even register it. The snickering behind him alerted him of the lack of filter his mouth had and his eyes widens just a tiny fraction and Kyungsoo looks like he is torn in between laughing and smacking him. Chanyeol felt somewhat relieved when Kyungsoo chose the former: he laughed. So, okay, perhaps it was more of a small chuckle than an actual full blown out laugh but Chanyeol has never seen Kyungsoo laughing, he could feel his cheeks flushing. Kyungsoo looks so adorable!
“Not really,” Kyungsoo says after he is done with laughing. His expression reverted to the normal one he always supported but Chanyeol could still see the mirth in his eyes. “Most of the time I have either Jongdae or Baekhyun buy my chocolates and sweets for me.” He answers and Chanyeol nods his head.
It became silent afterwards. Kyungsoo is staring at Chanyeol and Chanyeol is staring at Kyungsoo. It felt like their staring match could go on forever – not that Chanyeol would complain about it, he gets to stare at Kyungsoo’s face as much as he wants – but alas that was impossible when he feels Sehun smacking his back.
Kyungsoo looks a little bit startled at the action while Chanyeol winces at the stinging pain. He whips around to look at Sehun who was looking at him pointedly. “What was that for?” He whines and Sehun rolls his eyes.
“We need to get the chocolates and then head to Spintwitches.” Sehun says in a-matter-of-factly tone and Chanyeol nods his head. He needed to bring his half-brothers to buy sporting equipment. He turns to look at Kyungsoo only to find him gone and he sighs.
“If you are looking for your friend, he left a few minutes ago,” Jongin points out as he held on to a few chocolates that he had selected.
There goes the chance of him being able to talk to Kyungsoo.
Thursday afternoon found Chanyeol at the infirmary, wincing and trying his hardest not to moan in pain as he feels his bones growing in its place. Nurse Boa had already given him skele-gro and that had left the dreadful taste in his mouth. He wishes he had some pumpkin juice to wash it away. He is in the midst of reaching for the book his fellow teammates had left when the door to the infirmary opens, revealing none other than Kyungsoo.
Kyungsoo looks just as surprised as he is when he spots Chanyeol on the bed, looking like a deer caught in headlights.
“What brings you here?” Chanyeol asks after a few seconds of awkward silence and staring. Kyungsoo shrugs his shoulders as he closes the door behind him.
“Did you acquire that from Quidditch?” Kyungsoo asks in return as he sits on the empty bed besides Chanyeol’s bed. Chanyeol looks at his leg and nods his head, forgetting the pain promptly. Kyungsoo purses his lips before shaking his head. “I still don’t get it.”
Chanyeol tilts his head to the side. “Get what?”
Kyungsoo simply stares at Chanyeol before shaking his head, getting himself comfortable on the bed. “Nothing important…”
Kyungsoo is in a dilemma. He is confused and afraid. Confused because he does not understand why he is attracted (yes, he finally admits that he is attracted to Park Chanyeol) to Park Chanyeol because he is a Quidditch idiot and has been sorted in Hufflepuff. Afraid because he knows his reasons are irrational and he is afraid of what is to come if he changes. On the other hand, he fully acknowledges the fact that Chanyeol just might be someone he is looking for.
Baekhyun rolls his eyes as he kicks his legs up, nearly hitting Jongdae’s chin. Jongdae swats at his legs but settles in the couch nicely. Kyungsoo sighs; perhaps he needs to change his circle of friends. Those two men he had seen with Chanyeol – he had only found out that they were Chanyeol’s half-brothers after an intense debate with himself about being jealous – looked like they could be really good friends. Although he was not quite sure if the taller of the two seem to fit the category but he would rather have those two than the ones with him at the very moment.
“What are you worried about, Kyungsoo?” Jongdae asks after a while. “Honestly speaking, I think, you are probably the only student that does not know.”
Kyungsoo simply raises an eyebrow. “Know what?”
“Nothing,” Baekhyun all but shouts and Kyungsoo almost flips him off of his lap. Baekhyun snorts and shoots Jongdae a glare. “Let him figure it out all by himself.”
Kyungsoo rolls his eyes and pushes Baekhyun off of his lap causing the latter to fall flat on his face. He resists the urge to laugh out loud and settled with an amused scoff. With Baekhyun whining on the ground, Kyungsoo turns to look at Jongdae.
“Are you talking about the betting pool that is going around?” Kyungsoo asks out of curiosity. It’s not like he doesn’t know about it: after all, he is Do Kyungsoo and nothing escapes his ears. He had simply overhead a few of the juniors talking about it when he was just coming out of the restricted section in the library.
Jongdae chokes on air and as he is coughing and trying to regulate his breathing, Baekhyun sits up, looking at Kyungsoo with wide eyes. “You know about the betting pool?” He asks, jaw dropping just a tad bit.
Kyungsoo sends Baekhyun a look and Baekhyun smiles sheepishly.
“Right, of course, why would you not know?” Baekhyun murmurs under his breath, contemplating whether or not he should bash his head on the floor right now or wait until he sees Minseok later on. How can someone so smart be so daft?
Jongdae pats Kyungsoo’s thigh. “It’s okay; I think Baekhyun and I would be winning it anyways and – wait, refrain from hitting us! – the both of us will most definitely treat you the next time we go to Hogsmeade.” He states and Kyungsoo narrows his eyes before shaking his head.
“I’m going to go back to my common room and think.” Kyungsoo states before standing up and promptly leaving the two of them together. Jongdae and Baekhyun did not even bat an eyelid; they were already used to Kyungsoo upping and leaving them whenever he needs his me-time.
(“And can you imagine?” Baekhyun asks with eyes wide. “He literally asks us about the betting pool – the betting pool of all things!” Baekhyun exclaims – he is really feeling the adrenaline from earlier.
Minseok nods his head, opting to listen to his boyfriend talk instead of butting in. He really needs Baekhyun to pipe down though lest he wants his roommates to find out he had let a Hufflepuff in to their room.
“And then he gives me the look.” Baekhyun falls on his back, throwing his arm and leg around Minseok’s body. His boyfriend’s body feels very warm and Baekhyun breathes in the all too familiar scent. “Sometimes I just want to hit Kyungsoo on the head.”
Minseok chuckles as he runs his hand through Baekhyun’s hair, scratching his scalp lightly. “You should give him a break - I’m pretty sure Kyungsoo will figure it out sooner or later.” He states and Baekhyun pouts but slowly nods his head when Minseok squeezes the back of his neck.
“And now I think, it’s time for you to pay attention to us and we’ll think about Kyungsoo and Chanyeol later on.” Minseok mutters before he pulls Baekhyun on top of him, lips seeking Baekhyun’s own.
Baekhyun smiles in to the kiss.
Minseok knows the only way to shut Baekhyun up is with a kiss.)
Despite absolutely hating the sports, Kyungsoo found himself sitting anxiously in the stands, eyes growing bigger by the second as he stares at the sight in front of him. He really has no idea what had possessed him to actually sit on an actual Quidditch match and it was not just any ordinary Quidditch match. It was a match between Hufflepuff and Slytherin.
Kyungsoo feels nervous because despite their not so vicious nature when it is outside of Quidditch, the Slytherin team still has a few dirty tricks up their sleeves. Kyungsoo feels nervous as he tries to see where Chanyeol is at the moment: he had brought his glasses along because he did not want to squint but at the same time, it was starting to drizzle. It really just beats the purpose of bringing one.
Perhaps he should have gone with Jongdae. It was not like Jongdae had not offered but Kyungsoo did not feel like being a third wheel, especially when he knows Jongdae will most likely be with his boyfriend, Joonmyeon.
Kyungsoo readies himself for whatever it is to come when the referee finally threw the quaffle in the air and the bludgers are all flying around. Kyungsoo thinks if he squints hard enough, he would be able to see that flash of gold whizzing around.
(Watching the match had been really interesting, despite his hatred of the game. He could feel the bubbling excitement whenever Hufflepuff scores or whenever he sees Chanyeol zooming around on his broom, chasing after the snitch.
That aside, he also learned how bothersome it was to watch Quidditch during a rainy day – he had to keep on wiping his glasses until he got so fed up, he mumbled a spell under his breath to keep his glasses clean and water-free. The game progressed nicely afterwards: Kyungsoo also felt that anxiety whenever a bludger almost hits Chanyeol but he, suavely – Kyungsoo has to admit -, hit the bludger with a bat he managed to get from one of the beaters – who he recognizes as Baekhyun.)
Chanyeol blinks a few times when he opens his eyes, head throbbing from the slight pain. He winces when he tries to sit up, only to have a pair of warm hands push him back on to the bed. He lets out a gasp in surprise when he sees Kyungsoo sitting beside his bed, a scowl on his face. He gulps visibly when Kyungsoo fixes his glasses.
“Uh –“
“First of all, you’re stupid.”
Chanyeol would be lying if what Kyungsoo had just said did not hurt him. He visibly droops and he feels his energy leaving him. It sucks to wake up, having very little clue of what had happened – the last thing he remembered was Sehun finally heading towards the snitch before he got a bludger to the back of his head – and hearing his crush saying that to him.
“But I think I’m more idiotic since I’ve been sitting here for the past two hours, wondering when you would wake up.” Kyungsoo states after a few seconds and Chanyeol widens his eyes when he finished processing what Kyungsoo had just said.
“You, how did you know I ended up here?” Chanyeol finally asks the question that’s been burning in his mind.
Kyungsoo shifts, nervous, and looks at anything but him. “I… Well, that is not important.” He finally says and fixes a glare to him. Chanyeol could feel his cheeks starting to burn at the intense emotion that is present in Kyungsoo’s eyes.
The silence that ensues afterwards is a little bit stifling but Chanyeol is feeling pretty mixed. He is happy and confused that Kyungsoo is sitting here. He has a suspicion that Kyungsoo had watched the match earlier because he knows for sure he had seen Kyungsoo prior to getting a bludger to the head. Chanyeol wonders if that was a blessing in disguise.
“Are you listening to me?”
Chanyeol blinks a few times before shaking his head, smiling sheepishly. Kyungsoo harrumphs before crossing his arms. “I said…” He takes a deep breath before looking directly at Chanyeol. “After today, give me your schedule as well as your team practice schedule.”
Chanyeol raises an eyebrow out of curiosity. “Uh, what,” Chanyeol manages to say rather dumbly.
Kyungsoo sighs as he rubs his forehead. “Did the bludger hit you too hard since you fail to comprehend?”
Chanyeol blinks a few times. “Kyungsoo, I really don’t understand what you mean. You want my schedules?”
Kyungsoo rolls his eyes. “Yes; I want all of your schedules. I’ll give you mine in return too. I expect you to meet me whenever we have free time and I also would expect you to sit beside me in classes too.”
Before Chanyeol could even open his mouth to ask his question because this conversation is starting to get weirder and it is also raising his hopes up by what he thinks it is implicating, Kyungsoo places his hand directly on Chanyeol’s mouth, stopping him from saying anything. The tips of his ears burn at the sudden skinship and the close proximity: Chanyeol’s a little bit thankful that he is already in the infirmary.
“If you still did not understand that, I like you and I know you like me too. So starting from today onwards, we are going out. Okay?”
Chanyeol could not really blame anyone but himself for the actions that he took afterwards. He yelped in surprise, causing Kyungsoo to wince at the feel of Chanyeol’s saliva on his hand. Chanyeol is taken aback at how lovingly Kyungsoo is looking at him and he blushes when Chanyeol sits up and wraps his arms around Kyungsoo’s petite body.
“Of course, I understand!” Chanyeol grins widely.
Perhaps getting hit by the bludger is really a blessing in disguise – the silver lining. The grin on his face widens when a pair of arms wrap itself around his waist. Chanyeol could not be any more happier! Kyungsoo is finally in his arms.
(“So… who won?”
“Good God; I confessed and that’s the thing you want to know more?”
“S-Sorry, Kyungsoo but I really want to know –“
“You won; Sehun, I think, managed to pull a classic move: the Harry Potter move.”
“Oh my God; he caught the snitch in his mouth didn’t he!? I already told him not to do that!”
“…”
“…”
“You need to shut up.”
“If that’s what will happen whenever I talk too much, then I think I can talk all day long.”
“Shut up.”
“Hey, out of curiosity, what was the last thing you smelled when we had to make the Amortentia?”
“…”
“What was that?”
“Shut up; I said it was you!”)
